Hi, I'm Shawn.
I'm a hopeless romantic, avid and obsessive sourdough baker, Dog Dad x 3, and multi-decade fan of The Golden Girls. An artist at heart, having studied in Toronto at OCAD way back in the 90's, I've been translating my love of composition, colour, and documentary storytelling to the wedding photography world since 2007. I'm based out of London, Ontario, Canada – but travel as needed!
You can learn more about my philanthropic labour of love, The Drawing Hope Project, which went viral and was featured on The Today Show, ABC World News with Diane Sawyer, MTV News, and more in this Q&A with 500px here.
I also teach Advanced Photoshop at Fanshawe College
Every Fall, I teach a 3rd year advanced photography course I was invited to put together, focusing on the magic that's possible within Photoshop (which is my favourite art supply and creative tool!). I'm proud to say the feedback from almost every student is that it's their favourite course every year.

I bake sourdough daily.
Several years ago, I fell madly (and deeply) in love (and down the rabbit hole) with baking sourdough bread. It's a passion and I dotingly feed and care for my starter, Blanche, every single day. My favourite part of baking bread is actually giving it away, and I have plans in the works to open my own micro bakery (Crumb London) in the future!

I hate having my picture taken.
I definitely prefer being behind the camera than in front of it, so I totally get it when I hear from couples that they don't enjoy having their photos taken! My goal is always to make your entire experience fun and painless – so you can have more photos of yourselves that you love than you ever dreamt of...and definitely more than there are actual photos of me out there.
These adorable faces are my kids.
I'm one of the biggest animal lovers you'll ever meet. Up until September 2019 when I suddenly lost one of my Boston's, I was the proud papa of 4 Boston Terriers. Left to right, meet Ralphie, Rupert, and Pixie (the one-eyes wonder).

Referrals from my amazing couples got me here.
I'm proud to say that the majority of weddings I shoot are the result of referrals from amazing couples like you. I often end up shooting the wedding of bridesmaids, groomsmen, siblings, and vendors that I've worked with before. And that's the biggest compliment I could ever ask for.
