I first met Tayler & David at their friend (and bridesmaid's) wedding several years ago. This is one of those special weddings where I knew so many people in the wedding party – 2 groomsmen (one whose wedding I shot in 2018, and another whose wedding I'm shooting this year!) as well as a bridesmaid...and at least 10 guests! It's a huge compliment (and a lot of fun) when I get to work with the same people in different weddings – referrals and the experience of working together in the past is the greatest feeling!

I fell in love with these two at their engagement session at Scotsdale Farm in the fall of 2018 (feels like a million years ago now!). I don't think I've ever laughed so much in my life, and I knew that day that their wedding was going to be no different. Tayler & Dave are so easygoing, absolutely comfortable in each other's company (and in front of the camera) – it was a pleasure spending the day with them. This was also full day coverage, so I started at the getting ready portion of the day at their respective homes in Milton. From there we went to the ceremony in Mississauga, followed by photos at Black Creek Pioneer Village (a personal favourite which I recommended, as it was on our way to the reception venue, Paramount Event Space in Woodbridge). It was touch and go with imminent rain in the forecast (and happening all morning) but it graciously blew over without a drop falling during our portrait session.

Prettiest. Bridal Party. Ever.

The Ceremony
I smiled from ear to ear at Tayler & David's wedding, even during the ceremony! Dave is a ham for the camera (and *constantly* smiling...it's contagious) so it was a blast watching him all day – and the way that he loves to make Tayler smile (he'll do anything).

Black Creek Pioneer Village
I've been shooting wedding portraits at Black Creek Pioneer Village for over a decade, and love the space so much for both wedding party and bride and groom photos! And, regardless of the number of times I shoot there, I am always finding new and awesome backdrops, hidden spaces, and interesting ways to play with the light! Since Tayler & David's wedding party was...huge...it was a perfect choice since it offers wide open spaces, walls, porches and paths where I could fit everyone nicely!

So. Much. Fun.
A lot of couples are concerned about their photos when they have a large wedding party, but I honestly love working with big crowds! These guys were a blast to spend the day with, super helpful, and well behaved haha! I couldn't have asked for more.

It's hard to believe we were only at Black Creek Pioneer for less than an hour for the full wedding party and bride & groom portraits! Time flies by on your wedding day, and when you have limited time for photos in between events, it's so important to have a great location (and photographer – ha!) that offers a tonne of variety with minimal traveling between spots.

Everybody, do "The Tayler!"

I didn't even have to explain it...they all just knew what to do. 🤷♂️

But no one can do The Tayler better than Tayler. And she's so gorgeous when she does!

The Reception
Paramount EventSpace in Woodbridge is always elegant, and I look forward to every wedding I shoot there! Tayler & Dave's was no different, and as usual, the moment we arrived I head in to start documenting all the gorgeous, chic details in the hall. There was an intimate cocktail hour happening (meaning nearly 300 guests), so it was also a great opportunity to grab some fun candids and group shots of the guests (and some of my former couples!)

Incredible, right?
Crystals, diamonds, sparkles and bling...these are a few of my favourite things! Then, wash it over in dreamy purple and lavender hues with hints of gold...my heart swoons looking at this room!
And that Harry Potter inspired cake topper...is the icing on the cake! #Always.

Of course I stole them away for sunset photos...
With Paramount EventSpace being in the middle of a pretty urban / industrial area, and surrounded by parking lot(s), it's important to know the angles and perfect time to zip out to capture sunset (without 1000 cars in the background!). Luckily, I've shot at Paramount enough times to know the good spots – and the sunset on Tayler & Dave's wedding day did not disappoint! Golden Hour for the win!

I have to say...not bad for a parking lot. I also have to say...you could put Tayler & David in front of anything and the photos would be gorgeous.

...and a kiss goodnight.
Hard to believe all of that happened in 10 fast hours! I always love ending the night with some twilight/night photography...it only takes a few minutes, but is so worth it. And, it's even better when it can showcase the venue (that's Paramount EventSpace in the background!). I would shoot Tayler & David's wedding every weekend if I could! Their entire entourage, and obviously the two of them, were an absolute pleasure to work with, and I wish them all the happily ever afters I can muster. Also, looking forward to working with David again in Amanda & Mike's upcoming wedding! Thanks to both of you for being so awesome. xoxo Shawn
